Ryley Batt

Ryley Batt

Ryley Batt is an Australian wheelchair rugby player who followed up his powerhouse efforts at the Beijing Paralympics by venturing to the US and the strongest national league in the world. The 19-year-old, so instrumental in Australia’s charge to the silver medal in Beijing, took his career to a whole new level as he became unstoppable with the San Diego Sharp Edge, who won their first US national title in Louisville, Kentucky. Batt was named as the tournament’s MVP after the Sharp Edge hammered the traditional dominators, Lakeshore Demolition, 57-47 in the final. Batt scored 35 points.Batt was the difference between NSW and the other states in Australia’s national championship. Regarded as the best wheelchair rugby player in the world, he was way too strong for most of his national teammates when he took them on as NSW romped through the interstate series. Will Swanton
